Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an SEND provision in Ashington who are searching for a Support Assistant to work with students with social emotional and mental health difficulties on a full time basis, to commence from the end of January until the end of the academic year. The role will be in a specialist SEND school, working with vulnerable young people, you will be working with the support of an extensive professional team of staff. The children in the provision display extremely challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will be confident in approaching this. The client school welcomes applications from a variety of backgrounds including those from youth work or army/military, experience working with social, emotional and mental health as well as challenging behaviour is extremely desirable.
You will be helping pupils to work towards formal qualifications so an enthusiastic and proactive support assistant with a desire for working with young people is required. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding support to students and passionate making a real difference to students who may display some of the following behaviours:
- Social anxiety
- Drug and alcohol addiction
- Language barriers
- Learning difficulties

We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £350 per week; for the right candidate longer term rates can be negotiated on your behalf.
