Support Assistant for students with Mild Learning Difficulties

Sheffield - Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are looking for passionate and caring individuals to provide in school support for children with moderate learning difficulties. You may be required to work 1:1 with a particular student or work as a teaching assistant for small classes in specialist Special Educational Needs schools.

You will promote student's education as well as their personal development, working alongisde the class teacher. The role involves:

  • Working together with other support staff, teachers and medical staff
  • Aiding children with their communication and de-escalating challenging behaviour
  • Assisting in all aspects of personal care
  • Enabling student participation in lesson times, during playtime or on school trips
  • Being aware of emergency procedures e.g. fire alarm procedures or in the event of a fall/accident

We accept applications from people who are:

  • Experienced supporting individuals with complex needs
  • Experienced teaching assistants, support workers, people from a care background
  • Registered with a DBS on the Update Service (or willing to get one)

You will be paid weekly and earn between £57-£70 per day. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
