Support Assistant for SEMH Provisions

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an experienced Support Assistant to work within Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Provisions in the Rotherham area. You will be required to support the educational team as well as work alongside the health-care professionals within the provisions, with a joint focus on preparing young people for rehabilitation back into the community.

For this role you must have prior relevant experience, this could include:

  • Supporting teachers in SEN settings
  • Previous Youth Work
  • Supporting behavioural units in mainstream schools
  • Prior care work

Your role will be to support teachers in delivering personalised educational programmes to vulnerable young people in the SEMH provisions. It is vital you are able to create a safe and encouraging environment to enable young people reach their full potential whilst simultaneously accessing the health care that they need.

You will work alongside a team of health-care professionals, teachers and the parents/carers of young people to provide bespoke and individualised care. You will be a valuable asset to the Teachers you work besides as it is vital that pupil's feel secure and supported in this environment to allow them to be successfully discharged and to reduce the possibility of relapse.

You will be supporting students 1:1 and in small groups in a trusting environment to develop indispensable skills for life beyond education.
