Supply Teacher – Secondary School North London
We at Teaching Personnel are working with an outstanding school in Finchley north London. We are seeking a supply teacher who are expected to teach calm and purposeful lessons. Which enable all students to make progress, and for learning to continue when the usual teacher is absent. It is essential that they give active support to the vision and ethos of school.
The primary purpose of the supply teacher is to ensure that the standard of the lesson is of the highest quality for all students so that they can achieve to the best of their ability. Maintaining good order and outstanding behaviour is an essential requirement of the job.
Key Tasks:
- To teach lessons which enable students to make good progress by:
- Ensuring high standards of teaching and learning whilst following the plans and
- instructions of the regular class teacher.
- Covering lessons in a range of subjects for students in different year groups.
- Having high expectations of all students so that they can achieve their academic
- potential.
- Adopting high standards of behaviour in their professional role and setting a positive
- example in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
- Having a good, up to date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching,
- learning and assessment strategies and know how to use them
- Creating a purposeful and challenging classroom environment
- Being an enthusiastic user of the Academy’s information technology systems.
- Maintaining an up to date understanding of the professional duties of teachers and the
- statutory framework within which they work.
Requirements
- Qualified teacher status (QTS)
- Experience teaching science to KS3 /KS4
The successful applicants will be confident and supportive with good interpersonal skills, and have an empathy with young people; ideally, previous experience in a role working with young people will be a considerable advantage.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
