The Lancashire Primary branch at Teaching Personnel is looking to bolster their bank of supply teachers by recruiting primary teachers within the East Lancashire area. Even with the latest school shutdown, we still have lots of work available for teachers across East Lancashire. During the first term, the primary branch has seen a big demand in short-term supply cover being required. The majority of work was pre-booked and could range from a day - two weeks. If you hold Qualified Teacher Status and have experience working Primary Schools, then we may have the perfect type of work for you at Teaching Personnel.
Teaching Personnel actively work over 100 schools within the East Lancashire area. As a supply teacher or cover teacher, you will be expected to work in a number of primary schools across the Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick & Keighley areas. The majority of work does tend to be pre-booked, however, we do have emergency on the day cover. Working as a supply teacher can be a very rewarding job and one where you can impact on learning every day, with different children.
We can also offer a guaranteed worker contract, which ensures you get paid for the day even if you do not secure work. The key benefits from the guaranteed work scheme:
- Assurance that you will receive work in school.
- You will receive income for at least the number of days that you make yourself available every week under the terms of the scheme (2 – 5).
- You don’t have to manage relationships with multiple agencies.
- Minimises your payroll administration and tax issues.
- GBP100- GBP160 per day
We have a demand for supply teachers in the following areas:
Blackburn (BB1, BB2)
Accrington (BB5)
Burnley (BB12, BB11, BB10)
Nelson (BB9)
Colne (BB8)
Barnoldswick (BB18)
Keighley (BD20, BD21, BD22)
You will need to use a range of behaviour management techniques and be able to use your initiative in order to deal with varying needs and ability levels. To conclude the working day, you will be expected to dismiss the children and leave feedback for the class teacher; specifying progress made and behaviour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
