Are you a retired teacher looking for part time work?
Teaching Personnel are working alongside Secondary Schools in Southampton that require supply teachers to join their schools on a temporary basis to cover lessons when planned and unplanned absences arise. This is an ongoing position on an ad hoc basis where you are in control of your availability. You can potentially work as much or as little as you want!
The role will include:
- Supply Teaching role, covering lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Excellent rates of pay, dependent on experience and responsibilities.
- Working as a supply teacher in large modern Secondary Schools in Southampton.

The role as a supply teacher will include delivering pre planned work to the class whilst covering a wide range of subjects, dependent on the needs of the school on the day. Whilst, ensuring the schools behaviour policy is adhered to through effective behaviour management techniques.
It would be an advantage if you have had previous experience working with children with special educational needs as the role may include assisting the pupils with any work related questions they have as well as supporting with any additional needs, for example any SEN or behaviour related issues. You will be required to continually report back to the head of departments regarding progress of pupils within the class.
The candidate will:
- Have experience teaching in a school environment.
- Be a fully qualified teacher, with a relevant degree.
- Having a postgraduate qualification would be an advantage.
- Have a passion for teaching and want to impact children’s lives.
- Want flexible work, on an ad hoc basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
