An Ofsted good secondary school in the Hyde area of Tameside are looking to add a Teaching Assistant to their team of dedicated support staff. The role is set to start in September 2023.

  • Earn £385 - £450 per week.
  • Attend regular, FREE CPD courses provided by the school. These include Autism Level 1, Team Teach & Child Protection to name just a small number of examples.
  • Join Teaching Personnel’s exciting Future Teachers Programme, a unique initiative designed to support graduates who are looking to start their Teacher Training.

The school are seeking a passionate individual who aspires to support young people, the 11-16 mixed academy is known for the excellent support it provides to its pupils. The school’s GCSE exam results have steadily been on the rise for the last 5 years, a statistic the school not only wishes to continue but is aiming to improve even further.

In this role the successful applicant will be expected to:

  • Support Teachers within the classroom, going around the class to help any students in need of support. Also liaising closely with Teaching staff to help identify any students that would benefit from receiving extended support.
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with pupils, supporting them pastorally as a mentor. You will regularly meet with your assigned students to discuss every aspect of their school life.
  • Another aspect of the 1:1 work will be intervention based, working with students who are underachieving or have fallen behind within the core subjects.
  • Create and develop student-specific leaning materials in order to differentiate learning, ensuring you are accommodating towards students with different processes.
  • Have the opportunity to deliver full scale lessons when absences occur, building your classroom and behaviour management skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
