Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an English Teacher on behalf of one of our client secondary schools in Stockport. This is a full-time post with planning and marking responsibilities starting in May 2023.

  • Pay in line with your PayScale (£28,000 - £43,685)
  • Work in an Ofsted good school
  • Must hold QTS in English
  • Role could be made permanent, depending on performance

Our client is a popular, over subscribed school in the easily accessible Fallowfield area. They are looking to add a talented educator to their English department to help raise attainment across KS3 & KS4, the applicant must be passionate about teaching and demonstrating to young people the importance of Maths in day-to-day life.

In its last Ofsted report the inspector highlighted the subject leaders’ outstanding subject knowledge as well as the level of support each department receives. The level of English within the institution is said to be of a high standard, this is demonstrated through the school’s yearly rising GCSE results, something the school not only wishes to continue but to get even better.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver lessons of an outstanding quality on a regular basis
  • Set engaging homework tasks, encouraging students to work independently
  • Support students with SEN, ensuring they have the appropriate work set
  • Always uphold school standards, especially those regarding behaviour and academic achievement
  • Attend regular department meetings, providing detailed progress reports as well as raising any concerns you may have.

The school is accessible via the M60, with secure onsite parking, there are many nearby bus and tram stops with regular services running in and around Greater Manchester. There is also a train station a short walk away with trains running to and from Manchester Piccadilly on a regular basis.
