Teaching Personnel are hiring for a SEN support Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Ashton-Under-Lyne. This position will start ASAP and it will be a full-time position.

The salary for this position will be between £385 and £450 per week, dependent on experience and qualifications.

The ideal candidate for this position will be either a recent Psychology Graduate, or someone who is experienced working alongside children with autism or any other learning requirements. You must have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs, as well as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will also be working with pupils. The successful candidates will be assisting students with their Educational Healthcare Plans (ECHPs).

The key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assisting students with their ECHPs and monitoring their progression.
  • Working with pupils in either small groups or on a 1:1 basis to target the individual learning needs of those pupils who are more vulnerable than their peers.
  • Monitor the performance of the pupils and be able to communicate any feedback with teaching staff as well as parents and the pupils themselves.
  •  Managing the behaviour of the pupils and ensuring that they are always in a safe learning environment.
  • You must be fully aware of the safeguarding procedures and ensure that any situations that arise are dealt with in an appropriate manner.

  • You will be supported by both Teaching Personnel, as well as the school that you will be working with.

For this position, it is essential that you are willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check, as well as providing two employment-based opportunities. You must also be aware of safeguarding procedures; training will be provided throughout the application process.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
