Teaching Personnel work with numerous secondary schools in the Trafford education authority and as a result are looking for supply teachers who are available to provide cover in these secondary schools. From February half term with the view that schools will be reopen, daily requests for teachers to cover lessons is expected to grow considerably as pre-planned absences increase in number coupled with more reactive, unplanned requirements.

The role of a supply teacher is to go into school and cover across the age and ability range in a variety of subjects as required. This role requires flexibility and the ability to quickly assert control and engage students with work. As an LEA the Trafford area has a number of very good, highly reputable secondary schools where behaviour is not an issue and so teaching at these schools is something which is pleasant and many of the teachers who go to these schools ask to go back as often as possible.

Highlights of the supply teacher role:

  • Real opportunity to earn up to GBP600 per week for daily, general supply cover

  • Opportunity to gain regular teaching cover at schools who ask for the same teachers back for continuity
  • Regular CPD courses and a dedicated team of consultants available via phone and email

Teachers who are available for specific days each week or perhaps have a more irregular work pattern are highly encouraged to register their interest below as this supply teaching work is ideal for an inconsistent schedule.

Schools in this area are open to taking teachers of all experience levels for general supply teaching cover making this role ideal for newly qualified teachers aswell as those who are more experienced. If you are a teaching looking for an introduction to your next teaching position, the supply teaching role could also be highly beneficial given the opportunity to network within these schools and try them out before perhaps applying/securing a long term position there.

These schools are situated in the areas of Stretford, Chorlton, Urmston, Sale, Altrincham and Hale Barns to name just a few of the areas within Trafford. For those who drive and live nearby or in the borough, the schools we work with have on site car parking facilities.
