£1,450 - 2,500 per month

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Plenty of flexible opportunities to teach in a number of secondary schools in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Hyde, Dukinfield, Stalybridge, Audenshaw and Droylsden.

Working with in excess of 8 schools across the education authority presents a number of requirements from schools requesting teachers who are available to cover lessons in their school. Schools will often call on the morning as well as in advance for teachers to get to school and cover across the age and subject range. Often asking for specialists, teachers are encouraged to highlight their own subject area on their CV and application as there is the opportunity to teach and cover in these areas.

The role of a supply teacher is to arrive on time at the nearby school with dedicated consultants looking to organise cover at schools which are realistically commutable to you, in your own area. You will be provided with cover work which is already set and given by the school along with a list of students and the school’s policy and procedures. Provided with a timetable, you will cover lessons ensuring students remain on task and engaged with the school work set. At the end of the day, you will provide feedback in most instances giving registers back into the cover manager or reception and sign out as normal.

Schools are keen to get the same faces of teachers back into their school for consistency and continuity for their students. Therefore, if you are available each week on a part time or full time basis and keen to secure as much work as possible.

Key aspects of the supply teacher role:

  • Flexible, temporary, part time and full time opportunities available at a number of secondary schools
  • Tameside based secondary schools in Ashton, Dukinfield, Hyde, Audenshaw and Denton for example
  • Competitive pay rate with the earning potential of up to GBP2400 per month
  • Options to cover at a wide range of secondary schools including outstanding, good and those that require improvement
  • Cover available in all subjects with subject specialists often requested
  • Proactive and reactive calls from schools with cover requested on the morning as well as in advance by many schools

These secondary schools are situated in the borough of Tameside across the whole area. This includes Stalybridge, Ashton, Denton, Dukinfield and Hyde to name just a few so if you are a teacher looking for work in these areas, then apply now for consideration. Any teachers that live in the nearby areas of Belle Vue, Beswick, Droylsden and Stockport for example are also encouraged to apply given the ability to get to Tameside with ease.

If you are a teacher of any experience, including newly qualified or perhaps further along in your teaching career and looking for flexible supply teaching work then apply now for immediate consideration. Please ensure you attach your latest most relevant teaching CV.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later
