Supply Teacher Catholic Schools

Job description

Are you looking to enrol on a PGCE?

Do you want to gain hands on classroom experience to boost your skills and confidence?

Do you want to be paid for doing something you love?

Teaching Personnel might have the perfect opportunity for you.

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a partnership school in RCT who are looking for a cover supervisor. The ideal candidate will either come from a strong Teaching Assistant background or will be someone with a specialist subject area potentially looking to enrol on a PGCE course. The school is specifically looking for individuals with excellent classroom and behaviour management so if you have strong tutoring or coaching experience, this might be a perfect role for you.

As the role will be based within Catholic schools, we are specifically looking for candidates who practice the Catholic faith, or who have experience working in Catholic schools.

One base school, located in RCT, has recently been 'lifted' out of special measures. New leadership is seeing huge progress being made across all areas of school life, particularly behavioural ethos.

The role

  • Cover Supervisor to KS3 & 4 pupils
  • Working in a challenging secondary school environment
  • Situated in RCT
  • Immediate start date
  • Full time hours
  • Up to £325 a week
  • Opportunity to gain a full time permanent contract in the school depending on performance.

As a cover supervisor you will be expected to delegate work set by the teacher in their absence. You will be expected to maintain classroom behaviour and ensure work is completed. Although you will be supported by teaching assistants and other faculty members, you are there to showcase excellent classroom management.

If you are considering applying for a PGCE but want to gain more classroom experience, this could be a perfect opportunity for you. The role is challenging but promises a realistic view of teacher life. Ultimately, it is a great way to network and build connections in the school with opportunities to be taken onto a full time contract.

You Must

  • Be available to interview immediately
  • Must have experience in Catholic schools or practice the Catholic faith
  • Have excellent behavioural management
  • Work well under pressure
  • Be adaptable
  • Be able to improvise
