Sports Coaches & Youth Workers Needed in Pontefract & Surrounding Areas
Are you a sports coach or youth worker looking for a new career path? Your skills could be invaluable in specialist schools across Pontefract, Castleford, Featherstone, and Knottingley. Many children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, respond positively to structured activities, clear boundaries, and engaging role models—making sports coaching a fantastic foundation for this work.
Teaching Personnel partners with PRUs and alternative provisions in the area, providing staff who can support students both in and out of the classroom. Whether you’re interested in flexible day-to-day work or a long-term role, this is a great opportunity to gain experience in education and make a real impact.
Having your own transport will increase your access to schools and opportunities across the region. We work with schools in Pontefract and the surrounding areas, including Castleford, Featherstone, Knottingley, and South Leeds. You can set your own expectations around travel to suit your availability.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
