A primary school in Salford (M7) is looking for a sports graduate teaching assistant to work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 with behavioural needs. The Head Teacher is looking for a candidate with a sporting background to join the school community and work with troubled pupils on a 1:1 basis.

The role will consist of working on a 1:1 basis with pupils in the classroom and using exercise and teamwork outside of the classroom the raise academic attainment.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with children
  • Have a degree or equal qualification in Sports/physical education
  • Be looking to work with hard to reach pupils

This is a larger than average, 2 form entry primary school focuses on making learning engaging and interactive. The successful applicant will work alongside pupils to aid progression across all subject areas and to encourage and support with PE throughout the school. The school has a large percentage of pupil's with special educational needs and challenging behaviour within Key Stage 2. Due to this, the Head is looking for a strong candidate who will be able to bond and create good relationships with the pupils through mentoring and physical exercise.

  • Previous experience working with Special educational needs is desirable
  • Experience in 1:1 support and classroom management is essential

The role will start on the 25th February 2019 and will carry on until the end of the academic year with the possibility of going onto a permanent school contract.
