A primary school in the Bury (BL9) area is looking for a sports graduate teaching assistant to work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2 with behavioural needs. The Head Teacher is looking for a candidate with a sporting background to join the school community and work with pupils on a 1:1 basis.

The role will consist of working on a 1:1 basis with pupils in the classroom and using exercise and teamwork outside of the classroom the raise academic attainment. The successful candidate must have previously worked with/coached young people and previous experience of working with challenging behaviour is desirable.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children

• Have a degree or equal qualification in Sports/physical education

• Be looking to work with hard to reach pupils

This is a larger than average, 2 form entry primary school focuses on making learning engaging and interactive. The successful applicant will work alongside pupils to aid progression across all subject areas and to encourage and support with PE throughout the school. The school has a large percentage of pupil's with special educational needs and challenging behaviour within Key Stage 2. Due to this, the Head is looking for a strong candidate who will be able to bond and create good relationships with the pupils through mentoring and physical exercise.

• Previous experience working with Special educational needs is desirable

The role will start on the 15^th April and will carry on until the end of the academic year with the possibility of going onto a permanent school contract.
