Sports Coach and Support Assistant role

Teaching Personnel are looking for sports coaches who have experience of working with children or young adults for work within local mainstream schools. We work with a variety of schools across Merseryside who have requirements for full-time and part-time support staff to work with students with additional needs.

A mainstream school in L24, Speke, are looking for a sports coach to work 8:30am – 4pm Monday to Friday. This role is for an immediate start. Within this role, you will b leading sports sessions as well as supporting in classroom activities. The school are looking for the successful applicant to start on a temporary basis as soon as possible with a view to go onto a school contract in the near future.

Specific role details

  • Mainstream School in Speke
  • Full-time role (8.30am - 4pm)
  • Ability to work across all the primary year groups (EYFS, KS1 and KS2)
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Role is on an ongoing basis with a view to go permanent

  • Have a sports background in training and/or coaching

  • Can remain calm under stressful situations
  • Have experience of working with young people

The Head teacher and members of SLT are known for their levels of approachability and will always ensure new staff are well inducted and supported in role. The Head Teacher has noted that this is a very exciting role which will impact on the children massively, with some of the most difficult children in school being given the best opportunity to progress at the same level as the other children across school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
