A school in Great Harwood are looking for a Speech and Language Support Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a child who is new to the Year 1 class. Your roll would be to use your experience and knowledge on Speech and Language Support to help the child in the classroom during core subjects in the mornings and then in the afternoons to provide daily interventions working by the Class Teacher.

However, the Head Teacher has stated she would want you to help the Class Teacher with the planning of the interventions to ensure the child is benefitting entirely for their specific needs. The position is a temporary, full time post with the potential to become permanent after the Easter Holidays.

The school is rated by Ofsted as 'Good' school and is recognised for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The school has a hardworking and optimistic team which the Head Teacher is thoroughly proud of and she says the staff are 'fabulous and hard working'. The Head Teacher has said that the general behaviour of the pupils is 'good' however the support is always there to 'tackle any challenges as a team'.

The salary is based on a 6.5 hour day position held Monday to Friday, and depending on experience, this could vary between £8.40-£10.50 per hour. Additional salary may increase depending on the interest of welfare.
