Speech and Language Support Assistant

Blackburn Primary School

Working in Year 3

Part time (Monday-Thursday 9.00am-3.15pm)

 

A faith primary school that are looking for a support assistant with experience working with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to start in January due to receiving additional funding. You would be spending the majority of the time supporting a child on a 1:1 basis. There will be an element of working with small groups of children in the classroom.

The identified child has communication, speech and language needs. They need additional support to stay focused in class using visual prompts. Behaviour can be challenging as the child can be easily distracted and frustrated as they struggle to communicate. The Head Teacher is looking for a dedicated support assistant who is pro-active and uses their initiative.

 

Job Type: Part time (Monday-Thursday 9.00am-3.15pm)

Rate of pay: GBP9.50 - GBP11.50 per hour

Start date: January 2020

End date: April 2020/July 2020
