Specialist Teaching Assistant

**Experienced Teaching Assistant Required**

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEN school in the Aldershot area. The school has been rated Outstanding in their last three Ofsted reports, and they are looking for experienced staff to deliver high levels of support to their pupils. 

About the School:

The school provides learning support to both Primary and Secondary aged pupils with varied learning and physical needs.

Previous experience working with adults or children with additional needs is essential, as you will be a vital part of the staff team. Although classroom experience is desirable, candidates with experience in support work will also be able to excel in this role. 

The school hours are 08:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday. Full time is preferred, but part time applicants may still apply as job shares can be available. 

About You:

You will be responsible for supporting the class teacher in carrying out the pupils' individual education plans, and working on a 1:1 basis, as well as in groups. Class sizes consist of between 6 - 10 pupils, with a class teacher and 3 support staff.

Being able to work in a variety of situations and dealing with challenging behaviour is paramount to being an effective support to the staff and pupils. 

You will need to show flexibility to working with various ages and needs. You will face different challenges, so being resilient and able to use your initiative is important. 

Applicants will be required to undergo a mandatory vetting process in order to ensure compliance, prior to being placed withing a school setting.
