Specialist Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion to support children and young people with their educational needs.

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with SEN and challenging behaviours. These roles are working with pupils in mainstream education but need support on a small group/1:1 basis.

Applicants must have:

  • English and mathematics GCSE or equivalent
  • Good organisational skills
  • A high standard of computer literacy
  • The ability to work with young people
  • Self-motivation and a friendly manner
  • The ability to work with different needs and abilities
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviours
  • Willingness to complete CPD courses to support the pupil with their education

A DBS in child work force which is on the update service is needed for these positions. If you do not have a current DBS then we can support you through the process.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
