Specialist Teaching Assistant job in Brent

A lovely SEN school based in North West London are looking for a specialist Teaching Assistants to start immediately and from September. This is a well maintained Special School (ages 5-18) for students. The needs of the pupils are broad and many children possess a range of learning difficulties including Autism, PMLD, SLD and MLD.

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Flexible and adaptable to working across the school
  • Experience working with students with PMLD and complex needs
  • Has a degree in social sciences (e.g. Psychology etc.)
  • Child Workforce only DBS
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication
  • Passion to support SEN pupils raise attainment and become more independent

The position is for 5 days a week to start in April with potential to roll over into September. There are also role for September but please apply now to be considered for September roles. Applicants with additional skills such as Makaton, Medicine Administration, PECS, Nasogastric and Gastrostomy Tube Feeding and Moving and Handling are extremely sought after and beneficial. The ideal candidate must be able to inspire and motivate these children through creative methods.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
