Specialist Teacher (SEMH)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an SEMH Teacher within a specialist setting, comprising of a special school and a PRU, for pupils with a wide range of social,emotional and behavioural issues. The school also also run an outreach service offering support to mainstream schools and a home tuition service, teaching pupils who cannot access education for a host of reasons. Our setting is also responsible for the hospital classroom at Hull Royal Infirmary.This diverse and unusual setting offers a unique opportunity for an SEMH Teacher who is looking for wide ranging teaching and learning experiences.
As part of the role of SEMH Teacher the school will provide extensive training, including behaviour management for those who are new to teaching in a specialist setting.

The Special School is a day school for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). The school provides education and support to pupils aged 5 to 11 who present with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Pupils are equipped with the life skills they will need to gain independence, benefitting from investment in additional courses such as pedestrian and safe cycling skills.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
