Job description

A full time position for a Teaching Assistant who can play a direct role in supporting pupils with SEN. Intially within the first instance the role is temporary and runs up untill christmas, however this setting do also have permenant positions available so Teaching Assistants seeking permenant roles are encouraged to apply.

The setting is situated in Tameside and the school provides education for pupils 11- 16 who have a range of needs which may include: complex learning difficulties, Autism, Down syndrome and cerebral palsy.

The role will involve working in collaboration with the Classroom Teachers and school support staff to support the ongoing development of pupils with SEN. Ideally the Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working within a special needs setting (highly desirable)
  • An in-depth understanding of the importance of differentiation and assuring that learning is accessible to all pupils
  • A commitment to assuring the optimal development of pupils with complex needs
