SEN Teaching Assistant with Higher Level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities Immediate Start

I am currently working closely with an SEN school in the Ashford area who are looking to appoint an STA (Specialist Teaching Assistant) who is able to carry out some of the duties of an HLTA including home tuition.  The school is an SEMH provision providing education to pupils across both primary and secondary year groups from KS2 up to KS4 including residential care.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading small groups of pupils or whole classes (where appropriate)
  • Work on a 1:1 and small group basis with pupils including planning, resourcing and delivering sessions (Home Tuition)
  • Preparing and developing resources for learning activities

Details:

  • Full-Time Role 08:30am – 16:00pm (For Part-Time and Supply please see below)
  • SEN Teaching Assistant (long-term contract)
  • Ages 7 – 11
  • SEN – Social, Emotional, Mental Health
  • Daily rate from GBP70 – 85 (depending on experience)
  • Opportunity to apply for a permanent contract

Due to the rural location along with the possibility of supporting pupils offsite own transport is essential.

All Candidates Must:

  • Be able to commit to working the hours specified above
  • Provide a child only workforce DBS on the update service or willing to pay for a new child only DBS (GBP40) and then subscribe to the update service (GBP13)
  • Have no recent criminal convictions/cautions.
  • Have a full original birth certificate, full driving licence and/or valid passport.
  • If you have been a resident for less than 5 years in the UK a right to work visa (non-EU) and a criminal background check from any country resided in for 6 months or more with in the past 5 years must be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
