SEND Child/Behaviour Support Assistants

Experience and knowledge of working alongside students with autistic spectrum conditions and challenging behaviour is essential. This role will include various tasks such as;
  • The school has high expectations of both its staff and pupils and manages pupils' behaviour with exceptional skill and great sensitivity. This leads to a happy productive working environment for all. The school are seeking an individual who can embrace this way of working.
  • We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with primary aged pupils on a full time basis. As part of a forward thinking, innovative team you will be required to work 1:1 supporting the pupil in all aspects of school life.
  • Supporting a student 1:1 with ASC with challenging behaviour in partnership with other learning support assistants
  • Supporting the individual to complete education tasks and engage in activities
  • Promoting independence within the environment
  • Implementing behaviour strategies
  • Creating a stable environment for the student to learn

Candidates must be able to fully commit the post which commences January 2018 and is funded until Easter.

Candidates will be required to hold an enhanced DBS disclosure and have undertaken Team Teach training.

Team teach courses are offered as part of our staff training programme.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
