About Us

We at Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a warm, forward-thinking specialist school in the heart of Bridgend, dedicated to nurturing children and young people aged from 3–19 with a wide range of additional learning needs. As a learning support assistant, you will support students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD), autism (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and complex medical needs.

The Role

We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and child-centred learning support assistants to join our dedicated team. You will:

  • Support pupils with a wide range of learning, sensory, physical and communication needs
  • Create meaningful, engaging, and accessible learning experiences
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support services
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
  • Contribute to a highly positive, safe and nurturing school environment

  • Can be confident using a range of communication approaches (PECS, Makaton, AAC)

  • Willing to work collaboratively with health professionals and behaviour support teams

Experience in ALN is helpful but not essential—we value the right mindset above all. The successful candidates can be from all walks of life!
