Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit an SEN teaching assistant who wants to work with children who have severe special educational needs in an outstanding SEN school in Southwark.

If you are committed to the all round development of children with severe learning difficulties, including complex physical needs and autism I would like to hear from you.

Details of the role:

  • Full time position starting as soon as possible
  • Long term role with the potential to become a permanent member of staff at this school
  • Support a key stage 1 class, working collaboratively with the class teacher and three other teaching assistants
  • Provide 1:1 support for 8 different children in the class, aiding their communication, sensory, social and academic development
  • Support the work of visiting Speech And Language Therapists, Educational Psychologists and Hearing Impaired Specialists
  • Provide personal care, including assisting with toileting and changing
