Located just 20 mins from Hayes and Harlington, a primary school supporting children diagnosed with autism across the spectrum are looking for a special needs teaching assistant to start full-time after the Easter holidays.

The role involves supporting primary children with autism in class and across the school 1:1, 2:1 and in small groups. This additionally will include adapting lessons, creating innovative resources, report taking, liaising with therapists and overall support of pupils in your care.

You will ideally need:

  • Live in Hayes or surrounding areas
  • Be able to work full-time during school term time times
  • Previous experience working as a special needs teaching assistant or with children with special needs
  • Confidence in dealing with pupils with a variety of needs
  • Confidence supporting in Maths, English and humanities

Additional experience/training preferred for this role:

  • Trained in autism specialist support (PECS, Makaton, Attention Autism, Elklan and TEACCH)
  • Team Teach de-escalation training
  • Qualified in GCSE grades A* - C or equivalent and/or higher

Successful applicants will need to provide references and hold an up to date child only DBS registered onto the £13 update service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
