Specialist Teacher for an Additionally Resourced Provision (ASC, SLD, MLD)

£145 daily rate

Autism Specialist Teacher Ealing, London. Main Scale/UPS + SEN Point

Start Date: ASAP

Initially the post will be until the end of the academic year with the option to extend to a permanent post.

Required for an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) Base located in Ealing, an autism specialist teacher to create, develop and maintain a high quality educational environment for pupils with ASD. We are looking for someone who is ambitious for all the children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. In this role you will lead on the on-going development of your staff in terms of their knowledge and skills to best support the children in the ARP and ensuring consistency in approaches when working with children.

The ideal Teacher will;

  • Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have teaching experience in mainstream and special schools.
  • Have experience working with young people with ASD
  • Have previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviour
  • Have previous experience of working with pupils with significant social and communication difficulties
  • Have a passion for developing the social and emotional development of young people
  • Have a resilient character

In addition we are looking for have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA),
  • principles of the "Treatment Education Autistic Communication Children"
  • (TEACCH) approach,
  • Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS),
  • Makaton,
  • Intensive Interaction,
  • Team Teach - positive behaviour management.
  • behaviour management experience and de-escalating behaviours training

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
