Special Needs Support Workers needed

Are you looking for work as a Support Assistant in the Alton area? Do you have a qualification in Health and Social Care and are interested in making a difference?

Teaching Personnel are working with a Special Needs school who cater for pupils up to the age of 22, with physical difficulties to include Cerebral Palsy and Muscular Dystrophy. The main purpose is to assist students who need help because of their disabilities.

The school require the successful candidate to work in both the school as well as the residential sites located on the school grounds, taking on a supportive role in all aspects.

Requirements:

- Assist in implementing all aspects of individual care plans.

- Flexibility to work different shifts which include weekends and nights.

- Must be comfortable carrying out personal care, and have previous experience doing so.

- Use your initiative and get involved with the pupils.

- Must have a relevant qualification or previous experience working in healthcare, or with Special Needs individuals.

- Be prepared to undergo additional training as required.

- The pupils are encouraged to work independently, so patience is essential.

- A positive and friendly disposition, and the ability to build relationships with the pupils.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
