Special Needs Support Worker - Bradford

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Special Needs Support Worker ASAP for a full time role in a special school in Bradford West.

Our client is an Outstanding School for pupils aged 3-19 with severe learning needs. The school holds specialist status in Communication and Interaction which supports all pupils to make outstanding progress.

As a Special Needs Support Worker, you will join an inclusive school community, where staff challenge pupils to achieve their full potential by accessing a bespoke and individualised curriculum. You will work closely with a specialist team to work on all aspects of communication, including:

• Makaton
• Intensive Interaction
• Symbol/Picture Exchange (PECS)
• TEACCH and PODD strategies

You may also be required to implement programmes developed by Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Educational Psychologists and specialist Swim Instructors within the hydrotherapy pool.

We are seeking individuals who have:

• Experience supporting young people/vulnerable adults with additional learning needs, specifically working with those on the Autism Spectrum or with Speech, Language and Communication Needs
• A passion to support pupils with additional needs to access a differentiated curriculum
• The ability to motivate and engage pupils with activities designed to increase their interactive attention span
• The commitment to attend relevant training and CPD events to enhance your skills
• The ability to promote independence and to act as a positive role model for pupils
