Job description

We are looking for teaching assistants to work with autistic children starting as soon as possible in schools within Milton Keynes.

  • Teaching Assistant for students on the Autistic Spectrum
  • Work with a variety of Key Stages
  • Teaching Assistant roles across Milton Keynes & Bedfordshire
  • Small group intervention work & 1-1 roles available
  • Additional CPD training courses available to all staff

The successful Teaching Assistant will be working in schools that cater for a wide range of Special Educational Needs, they will have several children on the autistic spectrum as well as children with moderate and severe learning difficulties

Applicants for this teaching assistant role should be exceptional communicators and strong team-players, able to fit in well with the supportive staff-team at the school. We are looking for pro-active and enthusiastic teaching assistants who can bring to the post lots of ideas and a passion for working with SEN children.

Previous experience working with autism is desirable for this role, ideally within a primary school environment with children aged 4-7.

Previous training in alternative communication techniques such as PECS or Makaton would be advantageous to the role but not essential. Teaching Personnel offers on-going training so an excellent placement for an experienced Teaching Assistant to develop their skills further.

In order to register with Teaching Personnel, candidates are required to have Child Workforce DBS registered on the update service. All candidates are required to complete a Safeguarding course through Teaching Personnel, or provide a relevant safeguarding certificate during your registration process. All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
