About the Job:
Our special school in Uxbridge are seeking a special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant with 1:1 support experience to work with pupils with complex behavioural, learning and physical disabilities. The role will initially be across primary and secondary departments until a suited class has been set.
The role is class based with small classes of up to 8 pupils all diagnosed with a special educational need. The role is full-time and will involve 1:1 support with education, development and overall care. Special needs teaching assistants will need to be either trained or open to supporting children in personal care (toileting support) or moving and handling if required.
About the special school (Hillingdon):
Our special school is based in Uxbridge providing both educational, residential and respite for children with special needs across Hillingdon. The school has a primary, secondary and post-16 department with a warm and caring environment, where daily life is underpinned by Christian principles.
Ofsted have ranked the school as ‘outstanding’ in 2014 and 2009 gaining praise for pupil progress, outcomes and behaviour. The school adopts a bespoke inclusive approach to education, involving parents and the local community to form an educational community that is both holistic and formal.

The school in Hillingdon are seeking a professional who is:
- Experienced working as a teaching assistant or with children in educational/care settings
- A minimum for 6 months 1:1 SEN support experience preferably autism, complex needs and/or behavioural needs
- Confident supporting children with academic learning
- Available full-time from Monday 14th September or sooner
- Trained or open to training to support children with personal care (toilet support) and moving and handling
- Ambitious and committed to providing excellent support and care to children with SEN
