Job description

A South Liverpool Pupil Referral Unit School are looking to appoint a learning support assistant to add to their team. Initially, the position will be temporary for Easter until the end of the year but there is an opportunity for a permanent contract. The school caters for individuals between 11-16 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH).

In addition to looking for a longer term member of staff, the school do have a high need for learning support on a short term and daily basis.

The ideal behaviour support assistant will have:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideally level 3) or equivalent
  • Preferably Team-Teach trained (can be provided)
  • A considerable amount of experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Experience working within a special needs setting
  • An understanding of the de-escalation tactics and crisis prevention

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
