Are you a Social Science student or graduate looking for full-time work in Uxbridge?

Do you want to develop your practical experience and understanding of supporting children with special needs?

I work with a range of special need schools in Uxbridge who are looking for confident and ambitious graduates. Applicants would need to be available full-time Monday to Friday to work for them on a long term basis with prospects of permanent placement within the school.

An outstanding and collaborative special need school in Uxbridge provides a holistic and personalised learning approach for children aged 7-19 with autism, learning difficulties and communication disorders. The school has a primary, secondary and post-16 department with SEN specific facilities and resources tailored for children with special needs.

What you will do daily:

  • 1:1 or 2:1 support with daily skills and short activities in Maths, English and sciences
  • Assessing and recording development of pupils academic, social skills and behaviours
  • Prioritising the safety and well-being of each child across the school (Safeguarding)
  • Collaborating with therapists, teachers and senior leadership in order to provide the most effective support
  • Being open to supporting pupils with toilet support and nappy changing is highly beneficial

What you will need:

  • Degree in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Criminology and Childhood studies)
  • Commitment to work full-time from 8:30 - 4:00pm Monday to Friday
  • Experience working with learning difficulties and autism is ideal but not essential
  • Genuine interest in furthering your understanding and experience with special needs
