Small Church School seeking Year 2 Class Teacher

A small school on the outskirts of Blackburn are currently working alongside Teaching Personnel in order to appoint a class teacher who can work for the entirety of the academic year from January 2019. The school is smaller than average and is located 3 miles from the centre of Blackburn, making it an easy commute by road or train. The Head teacher is reasonably new to the School since arriving from a local school where she previously worked as a Deputy Head teacher. She contacted the agency early last week in order to see the CVs of a number of teachers who are available and suitable for the role to begin from January 2019.

The children who arrive in school are from a mixed social background and tend to arrive in school working behind the age expected levels for children in the UK. As well as this, the Head teacher did mention that she would be keen to see the applying teachers in action, through a 40 minute observation and then an informal chat. She is keen to appoint a solid teacher, but also someone who will get on well with the team in school.

Recently, the school were observed by Ofsted and received a GOOD inspection grading. Despite a change in Headship, the maintained this positive grading through high quality teaching and learning opportunities, good SATs results as well as the reputation for the level of behaviour in school.

There are a number of pre-requisites you must hold in order to apply for this role, shortlisting is taking place this week with the view to observing teachers from Wednesday. Please see the following pre-requisites needed to apply for this teaching role;

-Qualified Teacher Status

-Experience in a KS1 class where you can show how you have raised standards.

-Experience working alongside children with Special Educational Needs and the ability to differentiate the Curriculum to support such children.

-Possess the personality traits to work collectively with the other members of staff across the school, adding to the school's wider reputation and be flexible to undertaking additional after school clubs.

The role will be open to Newly and Fully Inducted Teachers, however you must be able to prove where you have moved children on in their learning and how best to plan for progression.

The rates of pay are competitive for this role and you would be expected to be paid between £90-£130 per day (depending on experience). You may be able to work additionally across the working day to complete SATS booster clubs, after school clubs, parents' evenings and completing school reports.
