Job description

A Special Educational Needs Academy in Gainsborough is currently seeking Teaching Assistants to work on a full time basis within the school. The Academy provides education for pupils aged from 2 to 11 years with a range of Special Needs including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia; motor co-ordination difficulties and general learning difficulties. The school is a purpose built specialist setting with outstanding facilities where highly skilled, committed and caring staff deliver a bespoke curriculum to enable all our learners to fulfill their potential.

The ideal candidate must be a Teaching Assistant who can help students to develop academically, socially, emotionally and physically and value themselves and others to grow into inspirational members of our community. We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to confidently support students with emotional and anxiety-­related difficulties and have the ability to help students in crisis.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Experience of supporting Special Needs
  • Previous experience of working in an SEN school or care setting
  • Personal Care experience

The following would be advantageous but not essential:

  • Moving & Handling Training
  • Team Teach training
