Our school in Central Manchester, M11 requires a teaching assistant to help assist pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). You will work closely with SEN pupils identified with SLCN on both a 1:1 basis and with small groups and will contribute towards a purposeful learning environment by supporting classroom teachers in teaching and learning.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience of working with children with speech and/or communication needs at varying levels and will display outstanding inter-personal skills. You will need to be patient and sensitive with the ability to encourage and motivate children as well as being able to work effectively in a team. Experience of working with children who display challenging behaviour as a result of SEMH would be highly advantageous. Having knowledge of phonics schemes would work well when working in the schools EYFS.
