Job description

I am currently working with a few schools in the vibrant area of Kingston Upon Thames who are looking for support staff who are able to work with children with a variety of needs. These needs may include Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and challenging behaviour.

Our schools are looking for experienced staff , or those with strong relevant experience of working with children who have needs. You will be expected to work 1-2-1 with a child who needs extra support throughout the day.

These positions that have come up are long term positions, the schools are looking to get the right person in ASAP Initially the role will be till the end of the academic year with the view for September 2018 start date back at the school. You may be working towards furthering your career in special needs and are looking for more experience.

If you have a proven track record of working with children then don't hesitate in applying.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Has previous experience supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Have previous experience working with primary age children in a classroom setting.
  • Be flexible & adaptable
  • Have experience with Makaton / PECs / Team Teach (desirable)
  • Be calm & positive with a supportive approach

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
