SEN Tutor – Reading & South Oxfordshire
Location: Reading and surrounding areas, with opportunities in parts of South Oxfordshire
Pay: £20–£30 per hour (depending on experience and responsibilities)
Contract Type: Flexible / Part-time / Self-employed
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to support children and young people across Reading and parts of South Oxfordshire. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping learners with additional needs overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in their education.
You will be delivering personalised 1:1 tuition to students with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and Dyslexia. Sessions may take place in schools, local community venues, or in the student’s home, depending on individual requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Assess students’ current academic levels and learning styles

Plan and deliver tailored schemes of work based on individual needs

Provide engaging, structured, and supportive lessons

Track progress and complete clear session reports

Support students’ academic and social development
Requirements
-
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a minimum of 3 years’ tutoring/teaching experience

Proven experience working with students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and related needs

Ability to assess, plan, and deliver personalised learning programmes

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
