Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an SEMH Teacher to work in one of our client schools – an outstanding special school for pupils aged 5-11 who present predominantly with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. A significant number of pupils are also on the Autism spectrum and may have other related needs.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of teaching and supporting young people within SEN/SEMH, along with the following characteristics:

Resilience – We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.

Organisation – You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well-structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.

Caring – Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.

Attentive – No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital

 

For this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • SEN experience; SEMH, ADD, ADHD, ODD, CAMHS, Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, Autism and or MLD
  • To be able to successfully build a strong rapport with children
  • To be able to de-escalate behavioural needs if and when required, safely and calmly
  • To be able to plan, deliver and mark

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
