Teaching Personnel are currently working on behalf of an OFSTED graded "Good" school in the Darlington area, who are looking to recruit a general SEND support assistant across Primary and Secondary years. The role will start with immediate effect and will be on going for the foreseeable future. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to their work pattern, which may vary from 1 day per week to 5 days. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other personal care teaching assistants and an experienced special needs teacher as well as also benefiting from the schools exceptional CPD and in-house training schemes.

An enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant is required to assist pupils in their day to day learning and routines. The successful candidate will be required to offer personal care to these children. You will have a desire for working with children and be looking to make a real difference. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding teaching support. Ideally you will have experience of working within an educational setting supporting students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASC; however individuals with a desire to work in this field will also be considered.

The ideal support teaching assistant will

-Have experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age

-Have numeracy/literacy skills (at a level equivalent to NQF Level 2)

-Have an understanding of the role of the Teaching Assistant and other professionals working in the classroom

-Have an understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
