Job description

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with SEND? We are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate individuals to work within mainstream primary schools across Sunderland, starting in September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within the main classroom environment.

About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 with pupils who require additional support
  • Support children with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Help pupils access learning within a mainstream classroom setting
  • Build strong, supportive relationships to encourage progress and confidence

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s development and wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
