SEND Classroom Assistant

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (Temp to Perm opportunities)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to engage with learning and develop key skills.

• Work with students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges.

• Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet individual needs.

• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour within the classroom.

• Monitor and report on pupil progress, supporting their academic and emotional development.

• Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Patient, caring, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.

• A good communicator who can build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

• Experienced in working with children or young people – experience in SEN or SEMH settings is highly desirable.

• In possession of (or willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable qualifications:

• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

• Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs or implementing learning interventions.
