SEN Tutor
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Having complex SEN or SEMH needs can make school life impossible for some young people. Covid-19 has already affected every child’s education in the last year. Now imagine those who were already unable to attend school?
Teaching Personnel are working with local authorities to provide catch up tuition programmes to pupils current awaiting school placements. These pupils have missed chunks of education and require specialist support to ensure they do not fall too far behind the curriculum.
We expect tuition requests to continue to rise within core subjects (Maths, English and Primary) and experienced educators in these fields would be beneficial in order to fulfil the current need. We support pupils ranging from KS1 to Post 16 so are seeking both primary and secondary specialists.
Your new role
As a 1:1 tutor you will plan, develop and provide individualised programmes for students in their home environment. Often pupils have varied SEN needs including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour, PDA, and trauma.
Tuition requests vary from 1 to 15 hours depending on the needs of the pupil. You are able to accept as much or as little work as you like and is ideal for those looking for flexibility. Likewise, we have capacity to provide multiple students to make up full time hours.
What you'll need to succeed
- QTS or equivalent
- Endless enthusiasm and patience
- Experience working with primary or secondary aged pupils
- Experience of working with SEND or challenging behaviour (desirable)
- Experience working with children in a tuition capacity (desirable)
- A valid, enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one
What you'll get in return
As a 1:1 tutor you will receive a competitive hourly rate of GBP25p/h, flexible working pattern and hours to suit your lifestyle.
Teaching Personnel are committed to the training and development of all their candidates and you will have access to our online training academy as part of your CPD. You will also have a dedicated consultant committed to offering you regular and local work as well as continual support.
