Teaching Personnel are currently looking for experienced and aspiring special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistants and learning support assistants to work in schools and colleges in East Sussex.

We are specifically looking for candidates interested in working with students with Social, Emotional, and/or Mental Health issues (SEMH)

The Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children with SEN, particularly SEMH
  • Candidates with experience working with children, SEN and/or the care industry will also be considered.
  • A can do attitude and a willingness to help in other areas of the classroom
  • The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members

The Role

  • The role will involve working with children that have both physical and learning disabilities
  • May involve attending to the hygiene of pupils with regards to washing, toileting
  • Assessing and accommodating individual learning needs of students
  • Reporting on individual pupils progress
  • Encouraging the social and emotional development of pupils

All positions will operate between 8.30am and 4.30pm, with the pay rate between £57 - £75.00 based on experience and qualifications. If you are interested in flexible working options in schools or if you would to gain experience in a variety of environments, please get in touch.

We need to approach your 2 most recent employers as well as you needing a Child Only DBS on the Update Service.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
