SEN Teaching Assistants

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant with a background of working in Alternative Provisions.

All applicants must have recent experience working with children with special educational needs, in either a secondary school or specialist SEN environment. The class consists of a small group with a broad range of learning difficulties and complex emotional and behavioural needs.

You would be working alongside a very experienced group of staff who are very supportive, friendly and hardworking.

The ideal candidate would have:

- A proven record of teaching SEN students with a range of needs

- The ability to prepare and teach effective lessons taking into account the individual needs of learners

- Registered DBS or be prepared to carry out a new DBS application

- Ability of working with students with challenging behaviour

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
