1:1 Autism Support Assistant Needed - Leyland Primary School - Y3

Are you experienced in working alongside children with Autism and confident working alongside children displaying challenging behaviour?

A proven track record of working with children in a Primary School setting is essential

Are you a driven, enthusiastic individual looking for a new challenge? Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a one-form entry Primary School in Leyland, the school is easily accessible from the motorway and would suite a candidate either living in Leyland, Preston or Chorley.

I have been to meet the Headteacher of the school today who has expressed she is 'putting the feelers out' for an experienced teaching assistant who has previously worked alongside children with SEN. She is looking for a practitioner to support a child in the Year 3 class and currently working at below 'expected age related levels' he needs extra support to further engage him into the classroom setting. The pupil struggles to socialise with other children and needs different strategies implemented in order to build self confidence and creative resources would need to be adapted to suite his needs.

The school is located in Leyland and the majority of children who arrive in school are working in line with age expectations. The role will be to start ASAP and run until Easter depending on how well the child engages with the support. This will be a five day a week position covering up to 33 hours. The rate of pay is competitive with other roles of this sort start from £9 per hour.
