SEN Teaching Assistant, Uxbridge

The Role:

  • Supporting secondary aged pupils with severe autism and complex behavioural needs
  • Working in small classes of 3 pupils, one member of staff to two pupils (however some people work 1:1)
  • Writing up learning and behaviour plans
  • Assessing and recording progress of pupils
  • Personal care (required on occasion)

To apply for this position you must have prior experience supporting autism or challenging behaviour., Experience working in an educational setting or residential care is preferred but not obligatory.

The School:

A Special Needs Secondary and Sixth Form for 11 to 19 years old for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). Due to their diagnosis, some pupils may be non-verbal, in wheelchairs or may display challenging behaviours.
