Teaching Personnel are recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to work within an Alternative Provision in Plymouth. The role is to start in February 2019 and will be long term until the end of the academic year. It is to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with secondary aged children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm, term time only.
Our school caters for secondary aged pupils with social and emotional difficulties and who are not in mainstream education. Most of the children have severe depression and anxiety so experience in supporting pupils with mental health difficulties.
The ideal candidate:
- Must have experience of working with pupils with SEMH difficulties or other SEND experience.
- Must have a NVQ Level 3 qualification in a child related subject or Health and Social Care.
- Have a full driving licence with access to a car.
- Has supported or written EHCPs or other support plans.
- Will be able to communicate effectively with parents, carers and other multi-agency partners.
- Must have experience working with pupils who are secondary aged.
